Saidhbhe O'Riordan
Dr. Saidhbhe L. O'Riordan https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Saidhbhe_ORiordan received her Ph.D in neurochemistry from Maynooth University (Ireland). Dr. O'Riordan is interested in the chemical, electrical and structural function of the nervous system. She has examined the role of oxidative stress in neurological disease and dysfunction, using in vivo electrochemistry and animal models (Maynooth University). She has used pharmacology, molecular biology and microscopy to present a novel Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis therapeutic in Prof. Jochen Prehn's lab (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland). Dr. O'Riordan joined the Lester Lab in March 2017, where she is conducting a pharmacokinetic investigation into menthol, as an additive in tobacco and vape. She will pursue research in the Lester lab, on the influence of specific tobacco and vape constituents on the brain, in relation to addiction.
